The Madhya Pradesh High Court has clarified that Family Courts are not bound by strict Evidence Act rules and may admit electronic evidence without a Section 65B certificate. Upholding a divorce decree based on mobile phone photographs, the Court emphasised the prioritisation of substantive justice over procedural technicalities.
